Hello and welcome to Recycled Salvage by Kathleen. I am a salvage artist in Boulder, Colorado.
I have been doing salvage art for most of my life. My educational background is High School of Art and Design in New York City, NY. Kansas City Art Institute, Kansas City, MO. (BID). And Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY. (MID).
I work with objects I've found in dumpsters, along streets and items given to me by friends. I use materials that are mostly salvaged. I also use local recycled resources. I revamp clothes and furnishing...
I give new life to old and discarded items.
Here are some projects I'm currently working on.
1. Mission style secretary - the secretary was in pieces it needed to be reglued and also needed some minor repair and it was oiled.
2. Bamboo and bentwood chairs - I like the old finish so I just cleaned the chairs and reupholstered the seats.
3. Contemporary style chair - the wood needs to be stripped and refinished, and the seat and back reupholstered.
4. Contemporary style office chair - needs wheels replaced. The wood stripped and refinished and seat and back reupholstered.
If you are interested in commenting on my projects or if you would like to contact me
please post here.
thank you, Kathleen.
